The consignment was destined for 'Glasgow Fruit Market,' where 952kg of cocaine with 73% purity, concealed in foil packages, was discovered.
James Stevenson, 59, is accused of directing the operation, working with others in the UK, Spain, Ecuador, and Abu Dhabi.
Serious charges include the supply of cocaine and other drugs, the use of encrypted communication devices, and conspiring to set fire to various properties.
The trial, presided over by Judge Lord Ericht, will continue until October.
