EU Lawmaker Calls for Broader Exemptions in Supply Chain Legislation
Proposals include raising company thresholds and removing climate plan mandates
Swedish Member of the European Parliament Jörgen Warborn is advocating for significant amendments to the EU's supply chain law, aiming to reduce the number of companies subject to its requirements.
Warborn suggests increasing the employee threshold from 500 to 3,000 and the turnover threshold to €450 million, as well as exempting subsidiaries and eliminating mandatory climate transition plans.
These changes are intended to alleviate the regulatory burden on businesses while maintaining the law's core objectives.
