ASU Launches ASU London, Extending Its Innovation Brand to the UK Education Market
Arizona State University creates UK-accredited institution in London—combining UK bachelor’s degrees with accelerated US master’s pathways
Arizona State University (ASU) has announced the establishment of ASU London, a UK-accredited institution built upon the project-based engineering programmes of The Engineering & Design Institute London (TEDI-London) and expanding into business management, computer science and electrical and electronic engineering.
The initiative allows students to complete a three-year UK bachelor’s degree at ASU London followed by an accelerated one-year master’s at ASU in the United States, enabling two international degrees in as little as four years.
ASU President Michael M. Crow described the model as harnessing “British higher education with American innovation in applied learning, all from one of the world’s great cities.”
ASU London is described as an independent UK higher-education provider (not a branch campus) developed in partnership with ASU’s global education arm and draws on TEDI-London’s experience of project-based study.
The programmes are co-designed by UK and US faculty and industry experts, and students will study in London before a graduate year at ASU’s home campus.
Sir Malcolm Grant, chair of the ASU London board of trustees, said the institution allows students “to learn as professionals in training” and develop technical and leadership skills sought by global employers, pointing to ASU’s consistent reputation for graduate employment success.
The launch signals ASU’s intention to expand its global footprint and appeal to international students seeking hybrid UK-US credentials.
ASU London will initially occupy space on the Clerkenwell campus of City St George’s, University of London, offering students a metropolitan environment with access to industry and innovation networks.
Admissions are set to open shortly, with degree offerings starting in the autumn intake.
The new venture underscores the growing trend of transnational education and the mobility of higher-education credentials across regions.
ASU said it remains committed to widening access, enhancing student success and preparing graduates for a changing global economy.
