The United States government is reportedly developing plans that will require nearly all foreign visitors to America to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
This is according to multiple international media reports published last month.
The BBC has reported that these plans are part of the Biden administration’s intention to create a “phased reopening” for international visitors.
America’s existing travel restrictions — which have been described as extraordinary — were first imposed on China in January 2020 to address the spread of
COVID-19. Numerous other countries have been added since.
As for the BVI, America’s Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) has advised persons to “avoid travel to the British Virgin Islands”.
“If you must travel to the British Virgin Islands, make sure you are fully vaccinated before travel. Because of the current situation in the British Virgin Islands, even fully vaccinated travellers may be at risk for getting and spreading
COVID-19 variants,” the CDC has said.
