Meghan appoints Bill Gates’s ex-assistant as chief of staff

Duchess of Sussex recruits Sarah Fosmo as she works on business ventures including lifestyle brand
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has appointed Sarah Fosmo, 45, as her chief of staff, marking a significant step as she prepares to relaunch her career.

Fosmo's appointment comes as the Duchess plans to release several ventures, including a Netflix lifestyle series, her podcast 'Archetypes,' and the launch of her commercial enterprise, 'With Love, Meghan.'

Fosmo will oversee this "dynamic period of growth" for the Duchess, who, along with the Duke of Sussex, has been known for a fluctuating staff since relocating to the United States.

This recent appointment aims to provide a stable leadership structure as the Sussexes pursue what they describe as "ambitious ventures."

Prior to joining the Duchess, Fosmo spent six years at Gates Ventures, the private office of Bill Gates, serving in executive administration.

Her experience also includes seven years as a senior executive assistant to American motivational speaker Tony Robbins.

Fosmo has expressed admiration for Gates and fellow neighbor Oprah Winfrey, describing them as among her "favourite people." She claims to possess the skills necessary for navigating high-pressure environments and managing complex operations for high-net-worth individuals.

In tandem with Fosmo’s appointment, Lianne Cashin has been elevated to the role of senior consultant at Archewell, the Sussexes' production company.

Cashin joined Archewell shortly after its inception, having progressed from an executive assistant to head of operations over four years.

Her background includes experience as a personal assistant to professional snowboarder Shaun White and involvement with the Duke's polo team.

Cashin's responsibilities will include supporting the Duke of Sussex in his post-royal career activities, following his Netflix documentaries and public interviews in which he has shared personal narratives about his life.

Recently, she played a crucial role in coordinating his BBC interview, which focused on his experiences and legal struggles related to security issues.

The Duke's previous chief of staff, Josh Kettler, resigned after a three-month trial period, which both parties agreed did not lead to a suitable fit.

Kettler supposedly brought significant credentials from his time at Cognixion and Patagonia.

Previously, the Sussexes had also worked with Catherine St Laurent, who served as a joint chief of staff when they first moved abroad, but she transitioned to an advisory role after less than a year.

The Sussexes were recently spotted enjoying an event at the SoFi Stadium in California during Beyoncé’s 'Cowboy Carter Tour,' as they continue to navigate their transition from royal duties to independent business endeavors.
