Heartwarming Surprise: Hugh Grant Serves Christmas Lunch to Elderly Residents in Hammersmith
Hugh Grant delighted 500 seniors by serving them Christmas lunch in Hammersmith, London. This Hollywood icon made an unexpected visit to the Big H&F Christmas Day Lunch, aimed at providing companionship and a holiday meal to Hammersmith and Fulham's elderly who might have spent the day alone.
At the local Novotel, Grant not only assisted with food service but also engaged in conversations with the guests.
Praising the event, the Hammersmith and Fulham Council expressed gratitude to all participants, including Grant, for bringing joy to the local seniors, likening his actions to a scene from his famous film, "Love Actually."
The festive occasion featured a free two-course meal, live music, mince pies, a gift bag for each guest, and provided transportation for those in need. The community support was evident as donations totaling around £40,000 funded this cherished event.
In the weeks leading up to this gesture, Grant and his wife Anna Eberstein generously donated £20,000 to James Anderson, recognized as "Britain's kindest plumber," who has been providing free services to the disabled and elderly through his initiative, Depher, since 2017.
Famously remembered for his role as the Prime Minister in "Love Actually," Grant also ventured into a whimsical portrayal of an Oompa Loompa in the recent movie "Wonka," featuring Timothée Chalamet.
