The Environment Agency evacuated 250 homes in the area, but residents have criticized what they see as a lack of support.

Chris Lloyd, whose home was previously flooded in 2007, is among those affected. He and his partner were evacuated but have received little assistance. Many residents are unable to return home and have faced significant losses.

The Environment Agency is currently assessing the best use of resources, including pumps, and acknowledges the need for support. A period of dry weather is expected, but some areas of Yorkshire received double the average monthly rainfall.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by communities during severe weather events and the importance of effective support from authorities in such situations.
