A woman who claimed to be the secret daughter of Freddie Mercury has died at the age of forty-eight after a prolonged battle with chordoma, a rare form of bone cancer that can affect the spine and skull.

The woman’s identity has not been publicly disclosed.

She was widely referred to only by an initial and a family nickname, and her relatives have continued to keep her name private.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas, and two young sons.

Her claim to be Mercury’s child entered public discussion in connection with a biography that described her as the recipient of personal journals said to have been written by the late Queen frontman.

The account asserted that she was born in the mid-nineteen-seventies following a relationship Mercury allegedly had with the wife of a close friend, and that Mercury maintained a close bond with the child until his death in nineteen ninety-one.
