William and Harry finally unite as they walk together after Duke's funeral

Prince Harry was seen talking with Prince William as the brothers left their grandfather’s funeral this afternoon.

The estranged siblings finally reunited as they walked alongside the Duchess of Cambridge after Prince Philip was laid to rest.

Kate Middleton eventually fell back and let the brothers walk in a pair in what body language experts have named ‘genuine moment of unity’.

The moment came following an impromptu decision by some members of the Royal Family to walk back to Windsor Castle from St George’s Chapel – despite state cars being provided.

Harry and William were originally expected to walk shoulder-to-shoulder behind the coffin – but were separated by their cousin Peter Phillips this afternoon.

They both looked sombre as they sat opposite one another in St George’s Chapel.

The pair were separated for more than a year following a rift, with Harry admitting their relationship is ‘space at the moment’ after he stepped down as a senior royal for good.

The Duke of Sussex said ‘time heals all things, hopefully’ as he spoke to Oprah Winfrey about his relationship with William in March.

His return to the UK comes after he and wife Meghan Markle made a number of shocking allegations about the Royal Family.

An unnamed member of the family was accused of raising ‘concerns about how dark Archie’s skin may be when he’s born’.

Oprah later clarified the remarks were not made by the Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke of Cambridge spoke out against the claims, saying his family was ‘very much not racist’.

Meghan decided to miss the funeral after being advised not to travel while pregnant by her doctor.

Her friend Gayle King said in March Harry had spoken to his brother and father after the interview, but talks were ‘unproductive’.

Royal sources said the brothers were ‘keen to spend time together as a family’ after the funeral as they put their differences to the side to celebrate the duke’s life.

Members of the Royal Family did not wear military uniform at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.

Instead, they wore civilian clothing with medals attached.

The Duke of Cambridge displayed his Garter Star - the most senior order of knighthood in the British honours system.

William is a member of the Order of the Garter, which was founded by King Edward III over 700 years ago, in 1348.

As a future king, he was made Knight of the Garter in 2008 by the Queen.

William also wore the 2002 Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the 2012 Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal during today's funeral.

The Duke of Sussex, who actively served as a captain in the British Army, displayed more medals due to his military service.

One of the medals he wore was his Afghan Service Medal, reflecting his deployment to Afghanistan.

The 36-year-old also wore the Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals, as well as the KCVO Star.

This represents the Royal Victorian Order, which recognises distinguished personal service to the monarch of the Commonwealth.

Earlier this year Harry was forced to relinquish his military titles after stepping down as a senior working member of the Royal Family.

The Duchess of Sussex told Oprah that ‘the firm refused to help her’ when she told them she was experiencing suicidal thoughts.

She also claimed William’s wife Kate Middleton made her cry in the lead-up to her wedding in 2018.

In a statement issued by the Queen, Buckingham Palace said the whole family was ‘saddened’ by the ‘serious allegations’ which would ‘be addressed privately’ – although added that ‘recollections may vary.

The Duchess of Sussex, who watched the service on TV, left a handwritten note for Prince Philip on a wreath laid in St George’s Chapel.

She and Harry personally chose the locally-sourced flowers for their tribute – including Acanthus mollis (Bear’s breeches), the national flower of Greece, to represent Philip’s heritage, and Eryngium (sea holly), to represent the Royal Marines.
