The most valuable brands globally are predominantly American, with Amazon leading in 2023 at an estimated $299.28 billion, despite a $51 billion loss from the previous year. Apple followed closely with a value of $297.51 billion after a 16% drop, while Google's value increased to $231.38 billion. The top 20 list features US companies prominently, with a total worth of approximately $1.5 trillion. South Korea's Samsung is the most valuable non-US brand on the list, ranking sixth at $99.66 billion. Only two European brands, Germany's Deutsche Telekom and Mercedez-Benz, appear in the top 20.

TradingPedia's extensive report shows Europe's strong presence beyond the top 20, with 14 European countries hosting brands within the global top 500. Just 30 out of 195 countries have brands featured in this list. The US and China are the leading countries, with the US having 202 brands and China 79 in the top 500; in the top 100 alone, the US boasts 53 brands, while China has 22. Germany has seven brands in the top 100, followed by Japan, South Korea, and the UK.

In terms of industries, banking has the most brands in the top 500, but technology and retail hold the highest values, making up around 13.4% and 13.2% of the entire list's worth, respectively. Despite larger economies having an advantage in brand creation, some smaller countries like Finland's Nokia and Mexico's Corona beer have also achieved global recognition.
