Andrew RT Davies, the leader of the Welsh Tories in the Senedd, faced accusations of "appalling misogyny" for a comment he made about Elin Jones, the Welsh Parliament's presiding officer.

During a GB News program, Davies claimed that Jones was too "busy doing her hair" to appear on the show. The comment sparked criticism, with Labour Economy Minister Vaughan Gething and Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth condemning Davies for his lack of respect and suggesting he should apologize.

Davies defended his comment, saying it was an expression used by many Welsh people and accusing his political opponents of focusing on trivial issues rather than addressing the concerns of the Welsh people.
