"War Crime" Warning by Macron to Israel on Gazans' Forced Transfer

During a phone call, Macron condemned Israel's recent claim to 800 hectares in the West Bank for settlement expansion, the largest in decades, and discussed drafting a UN resolution for a lasting ceasefire. He emphasized the need to open Gaza's crossing points immediately.

Additionally, Macron and Jordan's King Abdullah II highlighted the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, calling the risk of famine "unjustifiable." They advocated for a two-state solution, including a Palestinian state encompassing Gaza.

The proposed Rafah offensive has met international criticism, feared to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis. Despite this, Israel maintains its necessity to counter Hamas following an attack that left around 1,160 Israelis dead. The six-month conflict has resulted in over 32,000 deaths in Gaza.
