The incident occurred on Thursday in the capital city of Yerevan, where hundreds of Wales fans have gathered ahead of a crucial Euro 2024 qualifier.
Fan Embassy Wales, which provides support to Welsh fans traveling for away matches, released a statement regarding the incident. The fan embassy said that the local police had been notified, and the individual involved in the incident is reportedly okay and unharmed but understandably distressed.
They also urged other fans traveling abroad to be aware of their surroundings, especially when traveling alone late at night. The advice included taking a photo of the taxi and sharing it with someone or avoiding traveling alone if possible.
The British Embassy in Armenia has been asked to comment on the incident.
