Kraft aims for the musical to amuse rather than upset audiences. Riki Lindhome, an Emmy-nominated actor and comedian, expressed excitement about joining the project, along with Broadway writers Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner.
Previously, Kraft produced a 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' concert at the Hollywood Bowl. He envisions the new musical launching this year and is diligently working on the story, characters, and songs, emphasizing the need for a proper budget to avoid being a parody of itself.
The musical, Kraft explains, will portray dreamers with big ideas but insufficient means, reminiscent of characters from 'The Music Man,' 'The Greatest Showman,' and 'The Producers.' He seeks to create a work that's both heartfelt and humorously absurd.
Meanwhile, props from the Glasgow event were auctioned on eBay, raising over £2,000 for Medical Aid for Palestinians. Musician Ben Howard bought three backdrops for £2,250 after being discarded.
The failed "Willy Wonka Experience" intended to enchant but was canceled due to multiple issues, leading to apologies and full refunds promised by the organizers. Police Scotland provided advice at the troubled event.
The idea further inspired Kaledonia Pictures, which is creating a horror film, "The Unknown," revolving around a mysterious yet viral character from the event.
