Viral video shows tech executive assaulting staff at San Francisco restaurant Hazie’s
Intoxicated woman, Shireen Afkari, a senior manager at a popular technology company was arrested after a violent altercation with restaurant employees, captured in widely shared footage.
A viral video recorded inside Hazie’s, a restaurant in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley co-owned by chef Joey Altman, shows a couple verbally harassing and then physically assaulting employees before being forced out by staff as patrons cheer.
The woman at the center of the incident was later identified by multiple outlets as a senior manager at a major technology company.
In the footage, she is seen yelling at staff while filming them on her phone.
The situation escalates near the bar, where she and a man accompanying her are shown physically grappling with employees.
Staff then push the pair out of the restaurant and onto the sidewalk, where the confrontation continues.
The video shows the woman pulling a bartender’s hair while others plead with her to let go.
Bartender Miguel Marchese told local media the incident began around nine thirty p.m. on Saturday, when the couple arrived, ordered food and cocktails, and appeared intoxicated.
He said the pair were verbally aggressive toward a server, prompting management to stop serving them alcohol.
According to Marchese, the woman then entered restricted areas of the restaurant, including the kitchen and behind the bar, to confront staff.
San Francisco police confirmed that the woman was arrested for public intoxication and booked into San Francisco County Jail.
Following the incident, the technology company where the woman held a senior management position confirmed that her employment was terminated, stating that the conduct shown in the video did not meet the company’s professional standards.
The video has drawn widespread attention online, reigniting debate about accountability, workplace conduct, and the behavior expected of senior leaders in positions of authority.
