Vigil held for stabbing victim Barnaby Webber, 19, as parents describe him as 'lovely soul'

Barnaby Webber, a 19-year-old first-year history student at the University of Nottingham, was stabbed to death along with fellow student Grace O'Malley-Kumar, also 19, and school caretaker Ian Coates, 65, in Nottingham.

On Sunday, a vigil was held at Bishops Hull Cricket Club in Somerset, where Webber's parents, Emma and David Webber, spoke about their son.

They described him as a "lovely soul" and mentioned the support they received from the cricket club as a source of strength.

The Webbers also mentioned the tribute paid to the victims by the England and Australia men's cricket team ahead of the first Ashes test.

The family said the vigil in Somerset was a "reflection and celebration of a wonderful young man so cruelly taken away at the very prime of his life."
