Irish premier Leo Varadkar's comments regarding Israel's actions in Gaza. Varadkar expressed his belief that while Israel has the right to defend itself and go after Hamas, some of its actions appeared to be more driven by revenge than self-defense. He emphasized that Israel's approach should focus on self-defense rather than revenge.

Varadkar also noted that Israel's stance on Palestine differs from that of most Western countries, and he acknowledged that Israel may not consider Ireland a close friend or ally due to this difference in perspective.

Additionally, Justice Minister Helen McEntee emphasized the importance of Israel defending itself with a humanitarian focus.

The comments come in the context of the ongoing conflict in Gaza and efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in the region.
