The incident involved activists spray-painting the phrase "Gaza Is Not For Sale" in three-meter high letters on the lawn of the prestigious golf course, known for hosting Open Championships.
The vandalism included damage to the greens and the elite clubhouse, where red spray paint was used to desecrate the property.
The activist group Palestine Action issued a statement describing the act as a direct response to the US administration’s stated intentions regarding Gaza, which they interpret as a push for ethnic cleansing.
This response follows a series of contentious remarks by President Trump, who has been quoted discussing plans to "clean out the whole thing" in reference to Gaza.
Additionally, last week, Trump shared video content on his social media platform Truth Social, promoting a satirical AI-generated video that depicted himself and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu engaging in activities at a fictional 'Trump Gaza' resort.
The creator of this video acknowledged that it was intended as a joke but expressed concerns it could provoke reactions from the White House.
In another controversial statement directed at the people of Gaza, Trump warned, "A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages.
If you do, you are dead." This comment aligns with recent developments where the Trump administration approved the shipment of 40,000 bombs to Israel amid the ongoing military conflict.
In response to the vandalism at Turnberry, a spokesperson for Palestine Action expressed their opposition to Trump's perspective on Gaza, asserting that the region is not his to commodify.
They emphasized that this act of vandalism was a demonstration of resistance against what they perceive as US-Israeli colonialism in the Palestinian territories.
Police Scotland confirmed that they received a report regarding the damages at around 4:40 am and stated that inquiries are ongoing.
They have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact local authorities.
A spokesperson for Trump Turnberry condemned the act as "childish" and a "criminal act," asserting that the management would ensure the incident would not disrupt operations at the resort, which they described as a "national treasure" and a symbol of luxury in the golfing world.
