US YouTuber YourFellowArab Kidnapped In Haiti While Trying To Interview Gang Leader

American YouTuber Addison Pierre Maalouf, known online as YourFellowArab, has been reportedly kidnapped in Haiti while attempting to interview notorious gang leader Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier.

Maalouf, who has 1.4 million YouTube subscribers and is known for visiting dangerous destinations, and a Haitian colleague were abducted by the 400 Mawozo gang on March 14, demanding a $600,000 ransom.

Despite a $40,000 payment, the gang continues to seek the full amount for Maalouf's release. News of his kidnapping became public after fellow streamer Lalem announced it on social media platform X, noting efforts to secure Maalouf's freedom.

Prior to his abduction, Maalouf had shared concerns about the gang-controlled Port-au-Prince, expressing a grim acceptance of the risks involved. Fellow YouTuber Miles "Lord Miles" Routledge claims he has been in contact with Maalouf, who, despite being held in a cage, remains optimistic about producing a compelling video from his experience.

The US Department of State has acknowledged the kidnapping report but emphasized its travel warning against visiting Haiti, without further comment on Maalouf's case.
