The Washington Post reported that shell analysis from an attack in October indicated the munitions were produced in the US. National Security Council’s John Kirby stated the US is seeking clarity on these allegations, emphasizing that such weapons should only be used lawfully, for battlefield illumination or concealment.

Nine civilians were reportedly wounded in these incidents, with Lebanon asserting that Israel's actions, amidst heightened tensions with Hamas, led to the destruction of 40,000 olive trees.

While the US supports Israel, it aims to prevent conflict escalation in the region. State Department's Matthew Miller said they are gathering further information and are concerned about any use of white phosphorus that endangers civilians.
