US Envoy Witkoff to Convene Security Advisers from Ukraine, UK, France and Germany in Miami as Peace Efforts Intensify

High-level meetings aim to advance negotiations on ending the Russia-Ukraine war with broad multinational engagement
White House special envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet with the national security advisers of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France and Germany in Miami on Friday, in a sustained diplomatic push to advance negotiations toward an end to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The gathering in Florida follows a series of high-level discussions in Europe and is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to coordinate allied positions and address core obstacles to a negotiated settlement.

Witkoff’s engagement with European and Ukrainian counterparts underscores the strategic priority Washington places on aligning partners before Saturday’s planned talks with a Russian delegation, which he will attend alongside Presidential adviser Jared Kushner.

The Miami meeting comes amid an intensified round of peace diplomacy that has seen Witkoff and Kushner travel to Berlin and engage senior Ukrainian officials and European leaders, including in discussions over a U.S.–proposed peace framework and security guarantees for Kyiv.

Although substantive differences remain — particularly over territorial and security arrangements — Ukrainian negotiators have reported progress in preliminary consultations, and officials from Kyiv and partner capitals have emphasised the importance of durable security commitments as part of any agreement.

The involvement of advisers from London, Paris and Berlin highlights European capitals’ determination to shape a settlement that preserves Ukraine’s sovereignty and provides credible deterrence against future aggression.

As the multi-party talks continue, Witkoff’s meetings are expected to explore pathways to resolve key contentious issues, build consensus around security guarantee mechanisms, and prepare the ground for subsequent discussions with the Russian delegation in Miami over the weekend.

The diplomatic push reflects broader international efforts to accelerate peace talks before year’s end, even as fighting persists on the ground.

Ukrainian negotiators have indicated that territorial integrity and long-term security assurances remain top priorities for Kyiv as negotiations with the United States and European partners proceed, while Moscow’s position remains a central variable in any final settlement.

The outcomes of these Miami consultations could influence the shape and momentum of the peace process in the weeks ahead.
