UN to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II

Tribute to be held Sept. 15, says Csaba Korosi, president of the 77th session of General Assembly
The United Nations said Tuesday it will pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

"A plenary meeting of the General Assembly to pay tribute to the memory of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II will be held on Thursday, 15 September," said Csaba Korosi, president of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

The funeral of Britain's Queen Elizabeth, 96, who died last Thursday at Balmoral Castle in Scotland after 70 years on the throne, will be held Sept. 19 in London.
