Zelensky said that counteroffensive and defensive actions are taking place in Ukraine, but declined to provide further details.

Trudeau denounced Russia's role in the destruction of the Russian-controlled Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine, which has caused flooding and forced thousands to flee their homes.

The Ukrainian president criticized the international community's "shameful indifference" to the aftermath of the dam's destruction, and urged international organizations to assist those in Russian-occupied territories.

Trudeau pledged 10 million Canadian dollars in new funding for flood relief, and said that the destruction of the dam was a "direct consequence" of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Ukraine and participated in events honoring those who have died in the conflict with Russia.

He also pledged Canada's support for training Ukraine's fighter pilots.

Earlier in the day, Trudeau placed flowers at a memorial for soldiers killed in combat and visited an exhibition featuring destroyed Russian military vehicles.

French President Emmanuel Macron urged his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi to end Tehran's support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which involves supplying Moscow with attack drones.

The United States has accused Iran of providing Russia with materials to build a drone factory on its territory that could be operational early next year.
