Speaking at a forum in Kyiv, Andriy Yermak, a top Ukrainian official, expressed hope that Russia could participate in the upcoming summit.
Meanwhile, diplomatic progress appears stalled as the Kremlin insists it will not negotiate under the current conditions, particularly concerning territorial disputes.
This announcement comes after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kyiv advocating for peace, although no significant breakthroughs were noted.
Modi and other Global South leaders, including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, have engaged with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but a meeting with China's Xi Jinping, Russia's key ally, has yet to be realized.
