The summit aims to develop an international framework to ensure the safe and reliable development and use of AI.

The UK is well-placed to convene discussions on the future of AI as it is a world leader in AI and has a significant AI sector that contributes to the economy and employs people.

The US and China are ahead of the UK in AI development.

The summit will consider the risks of AI, including frontier systems, and discuss how they can be mitigated through internationally coordinated action.

The UK has recently discussed this issue with businesspeople and world leaders, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai.

The work at the AI safety summit will build on recent discussions at the G7 Summit in Japan.

The co-founder and CEO of Palantir Technologies, Alex Karp, met with UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, to discuss strengthening the economies of both countries and cementing joint leadership in technology.

Sunak also announced an increase in scholarships for students pursuing postgraduate studies and research in STEM subjects at UK and US universities.
