UK to Acquire 12 Nuclear-Capable F-35 Jets in Defense Expansion

The United Kingdom is set to purchase 12 F-35A Lightning II jets capable of carrying B61-12 tactical nuclear bombs, representing a substantial enhancement of the nation's defense capabilities.

This acquisition is part of a broader strategic defense review aimed at modernizing the military and addressing emerging global threats.

The addition of air-based nuclear deterrents complements the UK's existing sea-based arsenal, signaling a renewed commitment to national and allied security.
