UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has pledged that communities will 'be safe' amidst ongoing riots in various towns and cities.
Following a second Cobra emergency meeting, Starmer emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring adequate police response.
Nearly 6,000 public order officers have been mobilized, and over 400 arrests have been made in connection to the unrest, fueled by misinformation about the killing of three girls in Southport.
Starmer assured that those involved in the disorder will face swift legal action, with about 100 individuals already charged.
Additional security measures include enhanced neighborhood patrols and increased surveillance.
The government also plans to add 567 prison places to address the surge in detentions related to the riots.
