UK Labour MP Jess Phillips Accused of Racism in Social Media Row with Headteacher Katharine Birbalsingh

Birbalsingh had posted a picture of Tina Turner alongside her abusive ex-husband and wrote a caption criticizing domestic abuse.

Phillips responded with her own tweet criticizing domestic abuse and later wrote another tweet suggesting that Birbalsingh was not competent as a headteacher.

The row led to a tweet from Birbalsingh that was critical of Phillips' behavior, which she later deleted.

The Teaching Regulation Agency was contacted with a demand that Birbalsingh be struck off.

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer received an open letter from Birbalsingh on Saturday, in which she accused Phillips of unconscious bias and suggested that Phillips had not followed the proper parliamentary process for raising concerns.
