The United Kingdom has deployed Royal Air Force Typhoon fighter jets to the Middle East as part of Operation Shader, in response to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed the deployment after Iran threatened to target UK, US, and French military facilities if they support Israel in the ongoing conflict.

The situation intensified following Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and subsequent Iranian missile attacks on Tel Aviv.

Starmer emphasized the importance of supporting allies while prioritizing regional de-escalation, noting that the military deployment is a contingency measure amid the fast-evolving situation.
