On its return flight from observing a NATO exercise in Poland, a UK Royal Air Force jet carrying Defense Minister Grant Shapps experienced GPS jamming near Russia.

The incident, confirmed by a government spokesman, occurred Wednesday evening close to Kaliningrad over the Baltic Sea, but did not compromise the aircraft's safety.

The jamming, while not uncommon in this region, lasted about 30 minutes, disrupting internet connection on mobile phones and necessitating alternative navigation methods.

The UK, a staunch supporter of Ukraine against Russia's invasion, has provided over £7 billion in military aid and trained thousands of Ukrainian soldiers.
