UK Briefed Before US Strikes on Iran but Played No Active Role

Britain was informed in advance of the US military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities but did not take part in the operation, and no request was made for use of the jointly operated Diego Garcia base, the Business and Trade Minister announced.
Defence assets were repositioned to protect allies if needed, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer engaged in discussions with international partners.
The government is preparing charter flights for British nationals in the region, advising them to register for evacuation once Israeli airspace reopens.
