Britain and France have agreed to a new deal to return some migrants arriving in the UK by small boat back to France in an effort to curb dangerous Channel crossings.

The pilot scheme is part of a broader cooperation package announced during President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to London, where both governments vowed to disrupt smuggling networks and strengthen border security.
