UAE's Tawazun Council Announces $6.3 Billion in Military Spending at Dubai Airshow 2023

The UAE's Tawazun Council has revealed that it signed 10 deals worth AED 1.415 billion ($6.3 billion) on the fifth and final day of the Dubai Airshow 2023, bringing the total military spending for the event to AED 23 billion ($6.3 billion).

The contracts included agreements with both local and international companies.

The local contracts, totaling AED 392 million, included procurement of Bombs Body from Lahab Defence Systems, upgrade services on Al Saber UAV's from ADASI, technical support on VIP Aircrafts from GAL, and technical support from Yahsat.

The international contracts, amounting to AED 1.023 billion, involved procurement of radars from SAAB, Thales, and ELETTRONICA, VIP helicopters and technical support on radars from LEONARDO, and microwave stations from L3Harris.

The contracts are part of the UAE's efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities.
