Two men, Adam Tolwinski and Ernest Weber, have been sentenced to life in prison for the torture and murder of Dariusz Michalowski in West Yorkshire in 2011. Dariusz Michalowski's remains were not discovered until 2020.

Tolwinski and Weber were found guilty of killing Michalowski, and they were also convicted of preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice. A third man, Piotr Weber, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice and preventing a lawful burial and was sentenced to six years in prison.

Tolwinski and Ernest Weber received minimum terms of 33 years each. The court heard that Michalowski had family links with the Weber brothers in Poland and did casual work for them at a garage they owned in Huddersfield.

The pair believed Michalowski had passed on information about their illegal activities and subjected him to a three-hour assault involving degradation and humiliation, which culminated in his death. The men then disposed of his body in a rural area. Michalowski's wife and daughter had suffered anguish in the years since his death.
