Each journalist is required to pay a bail of approximately $192,307 and is barred from leaving the country while they appeal their convictions. Their initial sentencing includes five years for conspiracy and an additional year for propaganda, which will be served concurrently.
The release was reported by local media, including the reformist Shargh newspaper where Hamedi worked as a photographer, and Tasnim news agency. Social media showed the pair celebrating their release.
Amini died in custody after being arrested for violating Iran's strict dress code, sparking a crackdown on journalists and mass arrests during subsequent protests.
