Two men have been arrested by Metropolitan Police officers following a violent altercation that resulted in one person being struck by a vehicle in Bow, East London.

The incident unfolded on St Paul’s Way on the evening of Tuesday, March 25, at approximately 9:01 PM, when police received reports of a fight and a subsequent road traffic collision in the area.

Eyewitnesses captured the chaotic events on video, showing a man violently kicking another individual on the ground, prompting a large response from concerned bystanders.

During the unfolding incident, a white Volvo, which had been idling in traffic, veered onto the pavement and accelerated towards the attacker.

The footage depicts the car striking the man involved in the altercation, leading to scenes of chaos as onlookers reacted in shock.

Describing the scene, one bystander characterized it as “horrific,” as individuals screamed and personal belongings were reportedly scattered across the street.

London’s Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene, treating injuries sustained by one individual before transporting them to a hospital.

The Metropolitan Police later confirmed that the injured individual’s injuries were non-life threatening, although it remains unclear whether the police were referring to the attacker or a different person involved in the incident.

A statement from the Met Police outlined the timeline and nature of the call received regarding the altercation and collision.

“We attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a man before taking him to hospital.

His injuries have been confirmed to be non-life threatening,” the statement noted.

In addition to the arrests, police established a cordon near St Paul's Way Secondary School as part of their ongoing investigation.

Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Authorities are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to come forward and contact them via the police hotline.
