Two arrests have been made following disorder on Bonfire Night in the Niddrie area of Edinburgh, where a group of 50 youths threw fireworks and petrol bombs at riot police.
Community Safety Minister Siobhan Brown announced the arrests and suggested that more arrests may follow as police inquiries continue.
Justice Secretary Angela Constance stated that she is "open to discussion" about a ban on fireworks, although the Scottish government currently lacks the powers for such a ban. The disorder also led to eight police officers suffering minor injuries in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
