The pair are suspected of improper burial practices, misrepresentation fraud, and abuse of position. Authorities removed 34 bodies from a Legacy Funeral Directors' branch, now rehoused in a city mortuary for identification. Humberside Police have sealed off all three company locations.

Assistant Chief Constable Thom McLoughlin confirmed the respectful transfer of the bodies and noted the ongoing support for the bereaved families, especially during Mother's Day.

Moreover, a specially established hotline has fielded over 350 calls since Friday, with each case receiving individual attention for comprehensive understanding.

"We're working tirelessly to respond to all inquiries promptly," assured McLoughlin. The investigation began following a Wednesday report about care concerns for the deceased. Legacy Funeral Directors operates in Hessle Road, Anlaby Road, and Beverley's Beckside.
