Troy Christopher is new chairman of BVI Red Cross, Bevin Braithwaite & Sylvia Moses appointed at VC & Treasurer

The BVI Red Cross welcomes Troy Christopher as its new Chairman; Mr. Bevin Braithwaite as Vice Chair; and Ms. Sylvia Moses as Treasurer.

The new appointments were made at Thursday’s annual general meeting. Mr. Braithwaite replaces Mr. Christopher; while Mr. Christopher replaces Mr. Geoffrey Brooks.

BVI Red Cross Director Stacy Lloyd commented, “We welcome our new Chairman and Vice Chair who will help guide the direction of the agency. Both have served on the BVI Red Cross Board in different capacities so they are well aware of the good work we do and continue to do for the community.”

Other BVI Red Cross Board Members include Secretary Mrs. Maria Abraham, and Member Ms. Rennea Powell. As director, Ms. Lloyd also serves on the BVI Red Cross Board.

The Governing Board of the BVI Red Cross is the ultimate decision-making body within the organisation and ensures that it works towards its vision and mission.


Sylvia Moses


The Board upholds the core ethos and values of the Red Cross. It sets and reviews policies, maintains the organisation’s financial integrity and evaluates its operations and effectiveness. Its role includes safeguarding the long-term reputation and assets of the Branch, and appointing the Director, who is responsible for the operational management of the organisation.

The mission of the British Virgin Islands Red Cross is to mobilise the power of humanity so that individuals and communities have the capacity to prepare for, deal with and recover from crisis.​The BVI Red Cross was established in 1956.

The Red Cross Movement is a volunteer based international humanitarian organization.
