Rail Strike Causes Disruption in Wales, Services Affected Across North and South

Train strikes are set to begin in Wales, causing disruption to rail passengers.

The latest round of strikes is being carried out by the Aslef and RMT unions, resulting in no Avanti West Coast services running in and out of north Wales on Wednesday and Saturday.

Additionally, there will only be a limited service for north Wales from Crewe on Friday due to an RMT union strike.

Services in and out of Cardiff will also be affected on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

While Great Western Railway services will run between Cardiff and Bristol on Wednesday and Saturday, there will be limited trains between Cardiff and both London Paddington and Westbury on Friday.

The strike action is said to be "the last thing" under pressure local businesses need, and union leaders have called for a pay offer that reflects the rising cost of living.

Both Aslef and RMT members have voted to extend the strike mandate for another six months.
