Tragic Incident in Cumbria: Child Fatality After Collision with Vehicle on Sports Field
A child has died and another is injured following a collision involving a car at the Kendal Rugby Union Football Club.
A serious incident occurred in Cumbria, where a child has died and another has sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle on a sports pitch.
The incident took place at the Kendal Rugby Union Football Club shortly before 5 PM. According to police reports, the vehicle involved was a black BMW i40, and the driver, a man in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, where one child was tragically pronounced dead.
The second child involved is currently receiving treatment from paramedics.
Both children's families have been informed by Cumbria Constabulary.
Law enforcement officials have stated that specialist investigators are on site, and the area has been cordoned off while inquiries are conducted to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Police have characterized the incident as “isolated” and clarified that there is no indication of any connection to terrorism.
