A 15-year-old boy has died following an incident in a lake at Beckenham Place Park, located in south-east London.

Emergency services, including specialist diving teams, the London Ambulance Service, and the London Fire Brigade, were deployed to the scene after the boy reportedly encountered difficulties in the water.

He was retrieved from the lake at approximately 10:42 PM and transported to a nearby hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Initial reports from the Metropolitan Police indicated the boy was 16 years old; however, this was later corrected to confirm his age as 15. The police have stated that the circumstances surrounding his death are being treated as unexpected, though there is currently no indication that it involved any suspicious activity.
