These disruptions affected users making calls via wifi, with some reporting the inability to connect to 999, the UK's emergency services number.
The company is currently undertaking urgent investigations into these reports.
In a statement, Three UK emphasized that while a typical volume of emergency calls successfully connected on Thursday, they are thoroughly examining reports of connection failures.
The company assured that, as of Friday, internal monitoring indicates full functionality of emergency call services.
On social media platform X, Three UK communicated its efforts to address the issue promptly, stating: 'Our monitoring has picked up an issue with calls connected via WiFi, which we’re investigating urgently.' Furthermore, the operator warned of potential additional service disruptions on Friday as Storm Eowyn is forecasted to impact parts of the UK and Ireland.
In preparation for the storm, Three UK has mobilized extra engineering resources to ensure rapid site recovery after any service disturbances.
The operator is committed to restoring any impacted sites as swiftly as conditions permit.
The disruptions on Thursday were highlighted by DownDetector, a service outage tracking website, which reported more than 10,000 users experiencing issues starting around 1 PM. Three UK continues to apologize for any inconvenience caused and maintains its focus on resolution and customer assurance.
