Three men have been convicted of the murder of Tristan Sherry following a shooting incident that occurred at Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, Dublin, on December 24, 2023. The Special Criminal Court found Michael Andrecut, 23, David Amah, 19, and Noah Musueni, 18, guilty of murder.

The court proceedings revealed that the defendants claimed they were provoked by Sherry, who allegedly shot Jason Hennessy Snr, who later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The shooting incident took place during a gathering of approximately 30 people at the steakhouse.

During the attack, Sherry was disarmed by Hennessy and other individuals present, after which he was subjected to physical violence, including multiple stabbings and blunt force trauma, resulting in his death at the scene.

Evidence presented to the court included CCTV footage and forensic reports detailing the nature of the injuries inflicted on Sherry, who suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder, though the court determined this did not contribute to his death.

Multiple weapons were used during the assault, including a butter knife, metal bar, and wooden chairs.

During the trial, Mr. Justice Kerida Naidoo noted that while the defendants asserted they were acting in response to provocation, the prosecution successfully rebutted this defense.

The court found that several actions taken by the defendants indicated they maintained control throughout the incident.

Andrecut, described as having viewed Hennessy as a father figure, was reported to have inflicted significant injuries on Sherry, employing various means of attack.

Amah, who was 17 at the time, was also found to have used a chair as a weapon and recorded elements of the incident on his mobile phone.

Musueni initially attempted to flee the scene but returned and engaged with Sherry.

In addition, Brandon Hennessy, son of Jason Hennessy, and two other individuals were convicted of violent disorder related to the incident.

The court determined that their actions were not justifiable as self-defense but rather constituted unlawful violence in response to the prior gunfire.

The next court appearance is scheduled for March 10, and a sentenced hearing is set for April 7.
