In Devon, two men in their 20s were pulled from the water off the coast of Torbay and died.

In Carlisle, a teenager was found dead in the River Eden after reportedly getting into difficulty with four other teenage boys.

The UK recorded its hottest day of the year on Saturday with temperatures reaching 24.3C.

People are being advised to take care if they plan to swim in rivers or lakes as hazards include strong currents, water quality, uneven riverbanks, and tomb-stoning without knowing the water depth or location of underwater objects.
