Three additional seaports reopen for fully-vaccinated int’l traffic

Three new seaports will join the Road Town Ferry Dock to reopen to international traffic starting Thursday, June 17.
These seaports are the Soper’s Hole Dock in West End, Tortola; the Dog Hole Dock on Jost Van Dyke; and St Thomas Bay Dock on Virgin Gorda.

Cabinet approved the reopening of these ports of entry to receive domestic travellers and fully vaccinated international travellers and crew members only. Cabinet approved this decision during their June 9 meeting.

Premier Andrew Fahie made this announcement in a public address on Tuesday, June 15; stating that these latest three reopened ports will be known as “fully vaccinated ports of entry”.

“Cabinet also decided that all requisite government and statutory bodies work together to establish Anegada Seaport as an official Port of Entry, to receive fully vaccinated travellers and crew members only for this initiative. The public will receive updates as we continue to move forward with this initiative,” the Premier further said.

He added: “Please also be advised that the Road Town seaport and the Terrance B Lettsome International Airport will be the only ports where vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers would be allowed to enter the territory. Let me also inform you here that domestic travellers will remain unaffected in their ability to use all ports.”

According to the Premier, these Cabinet decisions compliment the revised measures Health Minister Carvin Malone announced last week.

Chief among those revised measures is news that fully vaccinated persons travelling from overseas will no longer be subjected to COVID-19 tests upon arrival in the British Virgin Islands.
