The designated day of action follows an interim ruling by the International Court of Justice regarding South Africa's case against Israel, as reported by Ismail Patel, chairman of Friends of Al-Aqsa.
Patel emphasized the significance of the 100-day mark of the ongoing crisis in Palestine and the need for a global demand for an immediate ceasefire and occupation termination.
The organizing coalitions accused Israel of genocide, referencing the destruction of Palestinian national groups under international law criteria. Ben Jamal, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, pushed for Israel to be charged with genocide and highlighted the global outcry for a ceasefire and an end to Israel’s exemption from international law and human rights.
In London, a seventh demonstration included "Little Amal," a large puppet symbolizing a young refugee, underscoring the rights of children, especially those impacted by the violence in Gaza, which has resulted in a staggering number of Palestinian casualties.
The day of solidarity saw continuations of protests, such as a sit-in in Sheffield, where activists also appealed for local and national recognition of the situation as an apartheid and called for legal actions against British citizens who have served in the Israeli Defense Forces and taken part in the violence in Gaza.
The event also saw hunger strikes from activists Sahar Awadallah and Lena Mussa to highlight the dire humanitarian crisis.
