The march saw a massive turnout as demonstrators called for a "ceasefire now" and chanted in support of Palestinian freedom. Concerns over an intensifying crisis in Rafah were voiced by Stop the War Coalition's John Rees, who expressed hope for preventing further tragedy.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests, with assaults occurring during one anti-Semitic sign confiscation.

They also reported arrests for failure to remove face coverings and one person suspected of supporting a banned group.

Regular pro-Palestinian protests in London have been ongoing since Israel's military action on October 7 in response to an attack by Hamas, which led to heavy casualties and hostages, as reported by Israeli sources and the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza.
