The trend of dressing up for concerts has been popularized by TikTok, where fans of Swift dress up as her famous eras, while Styles' fans wear bright 70s-inspired clothes to match the star's style on tour.

The trend has been fueled by the popularity of social media platforms like TikTok, where fans can share their outfits and creative ideas with others.

Fans are taking inspiration from the artists themselves, with Swift using her lyrics as inspiration for outfits, and Styles wearing a feather boa at the Grammys that later became a viral trend on TikTok.

The trend of dressing up for concerts is now a integral part of the concert-going experience, with fans eager to show their love and appreciation for their favorite artists through their outfits.

Second-hand shopping apps such as Depop are joining the trend of concert dressing, as seen in their Beyoncé-inspired metallic edit and festive-themed "Festival Edit." According to stylist and photographer Rosanna Elettra, who has worked with popular music stars like Kesha and Aitch, the trend of concert dressing dates back to the 60s when fans of bands like The Beatles or The Rolling Stones would mimic their looks.

In the 70s and 80s, fans reflected punk artists through ripped jeans and custom leather jackets.

Elettra says that a lot goes into styling a band and that artists like Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and SZA are just the latest to do it and do it well.

She notes that fans are noticing this and taking inspiration from the glimmering haze of Swift's newest album Midnights, to the vintage dresses and cowboy boots evoking nostalgia of Swift's early country roots.

The pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis have also played a role in the influx of feather boas and cowboy hats.

"After extended periods of social isolation and the rising cost of living, fans are looking to maximize their experience, and dressing up in homage to their favorite artists is part of this experience.

They want to feel part of the tour and then share it online with other fans," Elettra explains.

Marion Moumpala, 27, from Manchester, shares this sentiment.

She dressed head-to-toe in monochrome to attend Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour and shared her experience on TikTok, documenting fans' outfits in Sunderland.

"With the cost of living these days, any experience that we invest in we want to enjoy to the fullest, and I feel like dressing up is definitely part of it," she said.

In summary, concert dressing has become a trend this summer, with fans mimicking their favorite artists' looks.

Social media, the pandemic, and the cost-of-living crisis have all contributed to the influx of feather boas and cowboy hats.

Fans want to feel part of the tour and enjoy Beyoncé's latest album, Renaissance, has been inspiring fans not only with its music but also with its stunning visuals.

The singer's elaborate outfits, which feature a mix of silver, rhinestones, and cowboy vibes, have been turning heads and catching the attention of fans everywhere.

One such fan is stylist Hanne Gaby Odiele, who was so inspired by Beyoncé's looks that she created a mood board based on the album's visuals for a recent concert.

Odiele's mood board included a variety of different pieces, including fringed vests, cowboy boots, and, of course, plenty of rhinestones and silver accents.

According to Odiele, creating a mood board is a great way for fans to get inspired and put together a look that perfectly captures the vibe of a concert.

By using visual elements from the concert, such as the lighting, colors, and styles of the performers, fans can create a cohesive and unique outfit that reflects their personal style and the overall energy of the event.

Whether you're planning to attend a Beyoncé concert or just want to add some of her signature style to your wardrobe, Odiele's advice is clear: embrace the rhinestones, fringes, and cowboy vibes of Renaissance and let them inspire your next fashion adventure.
