These queries reveal the broad scope of the inquiry and could cause problems for Johnson and his colleagues.

One of the most important and potentially embarrassing questions is why Johnson did not attend any Cobra meetings related to COVID-19 prior to 2 March 2020, despite the seriousness of the emergency.

The inquiry is also looking into Johnson's decision to implement the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which was criticized for its cost and linked to a jump in COVID cases.

The inquiry is also seeking information on Johnson's understanding of whether individuals being discharged from hospital into care homes would be tested for COVID-19.

Johnson has been accused of stating that he would rather "let the bodies pile high" than order another lockdown.

The inquiry is also looking into Johnson's attendance at a personal/social meeting on the evening of 19 March, despite calling for a halt to non-essential contact with others on 16 March.

The inquiry is also investigating Johnson's relationship with Evgeny Lebedev, the proprietor of the Evening Standard, who was nominated for a peerage shortly after the meeting.

The inquiry has also asked about comments made by Johnson about Sage's role in advising the government on COVID-19 policy.
